Our ‘French Food & Wine Weekends’ on the first weekend of most months, are very popular as they offer the visitor a fantastic opportunity to explore the undiscovered Lot region and experience and taste what this beautiful area has to offer.
The Weekend includes bed and breakfast for Friday and Saturday night for two people in a double en-suite room.
Friday - We would like to welcome you to La Chapellenie and ask you to join us for a complimentary early evening welcome drink and snacks at Wine o’clock. Your pre-booked table awaits at the nearby Michelin recommended restaurant where you will be looked after by Restaurateur and Caviste, Michael and his excellent team.
Saturday – After a relaxed breakfast we will departing on a short journey that follows the Lot River as it winds through the Lot valley. Our destination is the Château de Haute-Serre, owned by the Vigouroux family - world acclaimed wine growers - for many generations.
Our visit starts with a tour of the vineyard followed by a tasting of some of the best of the spectacular wines that the Château produces. As is the custom in this part of France, fine wines are then followed by fine food!, you will take a very pleasant lunch in the atmospheric and welcoming Château restaurant. Upon our return you are welcome to explore the historic town of Figeac and take in the ancient medieval architecture and the diversity of shops and
restaurants and, of course, the famous Champollion museum.
Sunday – a slightly later breakfast is called for, but will give you time to reflect on a wonderful weekend in a region of France that offers everything, beautiful scenery and a history that reaches back to the Romans, warm and engaging people and memories that will last a lifetime.
We can accommodate up to 4 couples on our weekends and very happy to
discuss group bookings, with you.
Cost: A double room from 390€
The above cost includes a double room and breakfast for two nights for two people, transportation to Haut Serre and wine tasting.
Dinner on Friday and Lunch on Saturday are not included.
