WELCOME TO LA CHAPELLENIE

We extend a very warm welcome to La Chapellenie, a 17th century four storey town house located in the centre of the medieval town of Figeac, which lies in the Lot region of the South West of France. Because we are in the heart of the town when you step outside our door you are in the main square, surrounded by cafés and boulangeries and amongst the hustle and bustle of local folk, in this beautiful part of France.

Our Chambres d’Hôtes has recently been fully refurbished throughout. Each room has a warm, poetic and enchanted atmosphere reflecting the colours and changing history of this ancient house. Our emphasis is on providing you a comfortable and restful stay. We also take a special pride in our breakfast. Fresh croissants, breads, fruits, meats, jams and freshly ground coffee aromas will greet you in the morning.

SUPERB LOCATION

Figeac is one of France’s most beautiful Medieval towns and classed as a ville d’art et d’histoire. It has an extensive and interesting history, with many of the half timbered and stone houses dating back to the 13th century, when it was an important trade centre. Figeac sits on the beautiful Célé river which winds through the scenic Lot valley in the southwestern edge of the Massif Central.

Of course, Figeac is just the starting point for a fantastic adventure into an area of France rarely visited by tourists. If you hire a car or cycle, travel along the old road to Cahors in the west. Follow the Célé river where it flows into the Lot, explore as you travel through deep winding gorges then rise to the plateau and see the villages and small farms of Southern France before you, a land untouched by time.
